John E. Naughton III Joins Juneau Associates, Inc., P.C. as Vice President of Business Development

John Naughton of Juneau AssociatesJuneau Associates, Inc., P.C., today announced the addition of Mr. John E. Naughton III, P.E. as vice president of business development.

Mr. Naughton will be responsible for advancing Juneau Associates’ presence in the Chicago and northern Illinois markets. He brings to Juneau Associates 25 years of experience in construction and project management, inspection of construction activities, and preparation of contract plans for civil and structural engineering assignments for various municipal, county, state, and toll highway improvements.

Mr. Naughton received his Bachelor of Science and his Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois – Urbana/Champaign. He resides in the Chicagoland area.

Juneau Associates is pleased to announce that it has been certified as a veteran-owned small business (VOSB) by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs’ (VA) Center for Verification and Evaluation (CVE).
Charlie Juneau, president of Juneau Associates says, “This is an important program to recognize service men and women for their dedication and contributions to our country. With help provided by the Vets First Verification Program, U.S. residents who serve and protect our country can return from service with increased opportunities in an entrepreneurial-minded and veteran-friendly business climate. To be recognized as a federal, veteran-owned small business by the CVE, a business must be at least 51 percent unconditionally and directly owned by one or more veterans. With this federal certification, Juneau Associates is eligible to participate in opportunities through the Veterans First Contracting Program. Juneau Associates is also a certified veteran-owned small business under the State of Illinois Veteran Business Program - a designation the firm received in 2012.

Juneau Associates, Inc., P.C. Celebrates Opening of Alton Regional Multi-modal Transportation Center in Alton

Charlie Juneau, president of Juneau Associates, attended the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the new Alton Regional Multi-Modal Transportation Center on Friday, Sept. 15. At the event, Juneau was invited to speak about his company’s role in the development of the $23.0 million facility and recognized all the subconsultant companies involved in the project. The City of Alton received a Federal $13.5 million TIGER III grant to fund the infrastructure to accommodate a transportation center in conjunction with the Amtrak High-Speed Rail Station planned for Alton. The joint application was successfully selected as one of the 46 grants awarded nationally. The City of Alton also received approximately $7.0 million for the construction of the station and platform from the Federal Railroad Administrator for the project. Alton Mayor Brant Walker, State Senator Bill Haine, State Representative Dan Beiser and Senator Richard Durbin were in attendance, along with other federal, state and local officials.

IMG 2539_1In his remarks, State Representative Dan Beiser said, “Every one of the people involved [in this project] and all of their efforts were ‘all aboard’ from day one ... I want to recognize Charlie Juneau and Juneau Associates for putting this whole concept down so it could go from construction to reality. Thank you. “

In 2014, Juneau Associates was selected to provide Design and Construction Engineering services for the Alton Regional Multimodal Transportation Center for the City of Alton.

Alton’s new transportation hub has an indoor 8,000 sq. ft. train station with a customer waiting area, restrooms, electronic informative signage, five bus bays with canopies, bicycle storage lockers, a 230 space pervious paver parking lot with surveillance cameras, and access roadways.
